Abby and Jake are having a baby! It was the biggest honor to have captured this exciting time for these two and Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs was the perfect backdrop for Abby and Jake’s maternity session! Abby was wearing a gorgeous blue dress, which the Garden of the Gods red rocks complimented very well! We started at High Point Overlook, where in one direction you get the mountain view and the other direction, you get a beautiful view of the entire park! We used the rocks to get some epic photos and showcase the love that these two share! We then explored the park more by going down a trail to a field with Pikes Peak towering behind us! We had the perfect evening for Abby and Jake’s Garden of the Gods maternity session and I am so excited for them as they will be welcoming a beautiful baby into their lives very soon!
High Point Overlook & Buckskin Charlie Trail, Garden of the Gods Notes:
High Point Overlook is located on Ridge Road on the south side of Garden of the Gods. There are about 30 parking spaces available, the overlook is wheelchair accessible, and there are signs with information about the area under a pergola. Here, you can see views of the mountain range and Pikes Peak. Climbing the red rocks, you can also see a view of the entire park of Garden of the Gods.
There are many trails nearby to hike in the park! We also took photos on the Buckskin Charlie Trail, which is just a short hike away from High Point Overlook. The trail goes through a field with Pikes Peak in the background and this trail eventually connects and leads to other parts of the park.
Garden of the Gods is open year round, from 5AM-9PM November-April and 5AM-10PM May-October. You can explore by hiking, vehicle tours, segway tours, bike tours, and horseback riding. You can rock climb with a permit. There are visitor and nature centers to visit. Dogs are allowed on leash and you must stay on trail. Happy exploring!!!
